John Clifford BDS GDC 59453
Dentist | Partner
John’s main interests are in preventive and restorative dentistry, with a particular emphasis on treating nervous patients. For the past thirty years he has enjoyed providing quality dentistry for the whole family and indeed now for children of patients he first knew when they were still at school!
John qualified from the Turner Dental School in 1984, and worked for a year at the Manchester Dental Hospital as house officer. In 1987 John joined the Toft Road Dental Practice as an associate working for the practices founder, J Stuart McKenzie and Roger Turner, both tutors of his at the Dental Hospital. In 1990 he became a partner with Roger Turner, and after Roger’s retirement, partner with James Gilmore in 2014.
For relaxation, playing saxophone and hill walking are his hobbies.
Claire Heywood, BDS MJDF RCS (Eng), GDC 192329
Dentist | Associate
Claire is originally from Heswall on the Wirral. She graduated from Newcastle University in 2010 and spent a few years working in the NHS in Lancashire. She completed her Diploma of the Membership of the Joint Dental Faculties of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2012 and has spent time working in private dentistry in the Liverpool area.
Claire joined the team at Toft Road Dental Practice in 2015 and enjoys the variation that general dental practice brings. She hopes, as a nervous patient herself, that while not everyone enjoys a visit to the dentist, that she will be able to make your visit as pleasant and comfortable as possible.
In her spare time, she enjoys keeping fit, in particular hiking (although mainly in the summer months!), pilates and playing with her cats, Bolt and Bella!
